Named after Middleton family, owners for ca 200 years until 1504. The famous plaster ceiling with its heraldic Gresham grasshopper is much admired. Splendid house with C18 front, timber-framed back has connections with the infamous 3rd Duke of Norfolk. Superb gardens including ‘Tudor’ one by designer Mark Rumary.
Tour 2 hours, £13 including tea or coffee with home-made cakes and scones.
