West Stow Hall

The C16 hall is believed to have been built by the last abbot of Bury St Edmunds. Downstairs, heavily timbered, perhaps from earlier manor, has huge inglenook and great reception hall. Gatehouse, c1520, has terracotta figures and wall painting of the four ages of man. 1570 colonnade joins the two.
