Extra Circus Performance Supports Oncology Charity
An extra performance of Cirque Du Ciel’s smash-hit show ShangHi will be performed at the theatre on Wednesday 28 March at 7.30pm with £1 from every ticket sold being donated to Woolverstone Wish, fundraising to improve Chemotherapy Outpatient Facilities at Ipswich Hospital.
ShangHi features over 30 amazingly multi-talented and skilled performers and sold-out in record time when it went on sale last month. The news of an extra performance is likely to start a scramble for tickets as those who could not previously get hold of tickets seek to avoid missing out on this daring, breathtaking and stunning piece of family entertainment.
Originally directed in China by Cirque Du Soleil’s Guy Caron, this internationally acclaimed production has been theatrically reworked to appeal to audiences of all ages and returns to the UK by overwhelming popular demand. The two hour extravaganza combines acrobatics, modern dance, martial arts, original music and many other traditional and modern Chinese elements within a fantastic adventure story.
£1 from every ticket purchased for this extra show will be donated to Woolverstone Wish, fundraising to improve the Chemotherapy outpatient clinics and day-unit in the Woolverstone Wing of Ipswich Hospital and a charity close to the Mercury’s heart, having cared for Mercury Theatre staff.
