Concessions

We believe the Mercury Theatre should be accessible to all, so we offer some of the best discounts around. Concessions are available to young people under 16, full-time students, job seekers and people over 60. This concessionary price is also available on all seats for the first Friday performance of Mercury Theatre Company Mainhouse plays (excluding Panto). Concessions are not available in the green area of the auditorium. Discounts are also available for people with disabilities, please see Access for full details.

Only one discount available per ticket. Please bring proof of status when collecting your tickets. All discounts are subject to availability and offered at the management's discretion.

Buying your tickets

Just call us – tickets can be bought by cash, cheque, theatre tokens, and most credit and debit cards. Reservations without payment can be made, but must be paid for within five working days or one hour prior to the performance, whichever is sooner.

To book by fax or e-mail – send full details of your booking, your address and a contact telephone number. We will call you for your credit card details.
To book by post – send full details of your booking, your address, a contact telephone number and a cheque payable to
Mercury Theatre Ltd.

Handling Fee – a handling fee of 75p to cover postage and administration will be added to all bookings except personal callers.

Exchanging tickets – Unlike many theatres, we will exchange tickets for another performance or give you a credit to the value of your seats for use at a later time, up to five days prior to the date on the ticket. Tickets must be returned to the Box Office.

Cloakroom

We have a secure cloakroom facility. Bags and coats can now be left in a supervised cloakroom for 20p per item.

Special Effects Warning

If you are concerned about any special effects (strobe lighting, loud bangs etc.) sometimes used in productions, please call the Box Office on 01206 573948.

Food and Drink

Orientation– the restaurant at the theatre, is the place to eat before or after the show. Orientation could not be better situated for theatre-goers and supports the Mercury by making donations from its profits! Orientation is open all day Tue– Sat, and Sun evenings, reservations are advisable.

Theatre Bar – the theatre bar is open 45 minutes before the performance, (except mid-week matinees) during intervals and after the show. Tea, coffee and a wide range of drinks are on sale. You can avoid the interval crush by ordering your drinks before the show.

Kiosk – the foyer kiosk is open 30 minutes before the show and during intervals and sells a selection of ice cream and confectionery. Coffee and soft drinks are also available.

Talk Back

The chance to find out more about the show you have just seen. The director and cast will be on hand to answer any questions or queries you may have after the show.

Mercury Friends

Digby Gallery

Open 2.00PM – 8.00PM, Mon – Sat (later on performance days).
The Digby Gallery hosts a varied programme of exhibitions by artists and photographers connected with the region.

Children’s Parties

Make your visit to the theatre complete, book an after-show children’s party from as little as £50. Food, drink and staff can be provided. More and more people are visiting the Mercury in groups. Why? Because the discounts are so good. You can save up to £3.50 per ticket off BLUE and YELLOW seats.

Just £5.00
Young people under 16, full-time students and job seekers can purchase unsold tickets (if available) from one hour before all performances.

Pay What You Can Nights

For all Mercury Theatre Company productions, on the first Monday of the run, there are no set ticket prices. You will simply be asked to ‘pay what you can’. We suggest a minimum of £3.50. Tickets are available to personal and telephone callers from seven days prior to the performance. Personal callers will be given priority, and tickets are limited to four per customer.

Access

Tickets for disabled people and the person accompanying them, people who are blind or partially sighted and for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, are just £5.50 for Mercury Theatre Company Mainhouse plays (excluding Panto) and The White Crow and A performances of Cinderella, and £9 for all other shows The Mercury Theatre and Studio are accessible to wheelchair users and people with mobility difficulties. There is accommodation for up to four wheelchair users in the Mercury Theatre and ample spaces in the Studio. An infra red hearing enhancement system is available at the Box Office and in the Mercury Theatre for people with hearing difficulties. Please let us know when you book if you will be using the infrared system, so we can ensure that you are seated in the best place. Guide dogs are welcome in all areas. Mercury Productions are Sign Language Interpreted by Hetty May Bailey – see pages 30 to 31 for dates and times. Please let us know of any special needs you or anyone in your party may have. We will do all we can to make your visit as enjoyable and straightforward as possible.

2. Tickets are sold subject to the Theatre Management’s right to make alterations to the performance or in the cast rendered necessary by any unavoidable cause.
3. We regret that we cannot refund money. We may undertake to sell returned tickets on your behalf or to exchange them.
