Facilities And Access
Find out more about the our facilities and accessible performances.
Facilities at the Mercury
We have a small amount of disabled parking outside the front of the theatre. This is available to blue badge holders on a first come first served basis. If you have any trouble finding the theatre, take a look at our How To Find Us page.
We do have a lift at the theatre, which is available to wheelchair users and those customers who have trouble climbing stairs. If you are likely to need the lift, please arrive at the theatre in plenty of time as the lift can get busy just before a show. You can find the lift to the right hand side of our Main Foyer.
Accessible Viewing Area
For customers using wheelchairs, we provide wheelchair spaces, with accompanying seating for a carer or companion. These can now be found in our newly built Accessible Viewing Areas.
Plus, for the first time ever, it is now possible to book wheelchair spaces and companion seats online. We’ll need to enable this facility on your account – call us on 01206 573948 to set this up. Please note there may be some circumstances where it is best to call our friendly Ticket Sales team:
If you need to book additional seats for friends/family close to the wheelchair user
If you are booking more than one wheelchair user space and therefore require more then one companion/carer seat
If you want to book a companion/carer seat for more than one show
During this transition, we would ask for your patience and love to hear any feedback or comments about this new arrangement.
We have a cloakroom which can be used for the safe storage of coats, push chairs and luggage during your visit to the Mercury. It is located in the Main Foyer and can be accessed with the help of one of our staff.
NEW Assisted Listening System
We have changed our Infra-red system to a brand new Assisted Listening system. We offer the Assisted Listening system (hearing enhancement) for customers with or without hearing aids. These can be booked online, over the phone or in person at the Ticket Sales Desk. The Assisted Listening system is available in the Main Theatre and Studio Theatre.
Assisted Listening Headsets can be picked up free of charge from the Cloakroom in the Main Foyer prior to the show.
A PDF “How To” Guide for our new Assisted Listening System is available for download on the left hand side of this page.
Food @ The Mercury
The Mercury":http://www.mercurytheatre.co.uk/your-visit/food-themercury/ is our on-site restaurant. To take advantage of our Dinner and a Show Offer, simply add either a two (£13.95) or three course (£15.95) meal to your basket along with your theatre tickets. No need to choose what you are having in advance – simply select from the delicious options available on the night. Please note that Food the Mercury is only open two hours prior to a performance. More information (including menus) is available online.
We have a Bar and Kiosk, which opens 1 hour before the start of a show. These serve a range of drinks, snacks and cocktails. Take a look around via our Virtual Tour!
Our Bar is also available to hire for conferences and events.
We have a small gallery space at the theatre which can be used as an exhibiting space or for drinks receptions. The space is also available for hire. The Digby gallery is open to the public from 10am to 6pm Mondays to Saturdays, and later on evenings when there is a performance. Read more.
