Ask the Candidates: General Election Hustings
Voters will have their chance to put questions to local representatives from each of the main political parties at our Ask The Candidates event at Mercury at Abbey Field on Thursday 5 December.
This will be the only General Election hustings for Colchester where all of the candidates will appear together to publicly debate the issues that matter to their constituents and across the UK.
Dr Laura Sudulich, Reader in Public Policy Department of Government University of Essex, has been confirmed as the Chair of this debate.
The candidates confirmed for this debate include:
Will Quince of the Conservative Party
Martin Goss of the Liberal Democrats
Tina McKay from the Labour Party
Mark Goacher from the Green Party
Ask The Candidates, which is supported by the Colchester & North Essex Branch of the English-Speaking Union, will start at 8pm on Thursday 5 December. Doors to Mercury at Abbey Field will open at 7.30pm.
Any questions suggested for the debate should be submitted at the time of booking and the Chair will pick a selection to ask on the night. If booking online please submit your questions to tickets@mercurytheatre.co.uk with the subject line, ‘Ask The Candidates: Hustings Question’
Free onsite parking is also available at Mercury at Abbey Field, but must be booked in advance to guarantee entry.
