What’s a girl gotta do to liven up her days again?
‘Will you be my Quarantine?’ is a 4 minute short film, shot in a single take that follows a young woman as she tries to escape her sad reality of being stuck home during lockdown through the fantasy of prepping for a hot date. Living in the mundane every day of the ‘new normal’, she yearns for the old school romance of simpler days. But what does her going out the door actually entail? And who could possibly be this mysterious date that could come to her during a global pandemic? Follow her story to find out…

Director/ Cinematographer/Actor: Piumi Wijesundara
Piumi is an actor, playwright and theatre director.
She is a graduate of the University of Colombo, currently reading for her Masters’ in Theatre Directing at East 15 Acting School, University of Essex, UK. Piumi has a keen interest in devising and children’s theatre and has directed award winning plays with the cast of Methodist College in 2017 (TTYL), 2018 (Train to Chaos) and 2019 (Ovaryacting!). She has acted in and produced plays staged at International Theatre Festivals in both UK, and Rwanda.
Piumi works as an artist at Stages Theatre Group, Sri Lanka and hopes to continue her work as a theatre practitioner upon her return from the UK.

Maleen Jayasuriya is currently pursuing a PhD in Robotics at the University of Technology Sydney. He is also known to dabble in theatre, amateur film making and VFX on his free time.

Andrea Lavio is a Swiss Director and Actor. Directing credits include shorts films “A Natural Chance” (Official Selection – “Printemps Carougeois”) and “La Découverte du Bibimbap” (Jury Prize – Contest “Mon Ouest à Moi”).
