Join James Meteyard, Artistic Director of award-winning theatre company Wildcard as he shares tips and experiences on creating gig theatre.

In this session, James will cover the basics of how he approaches Gig theatre, specifically looking at:

  • Understanding what Gig Theatre is
  • Approaching writing and creating Gig Theatre
  • Transforming an idea into a script
  • Infusing story with music

James Meteyard.

James is an actor, writer, director and the Artist Director of Wildcard. He enjoys creating theatre in a collaborative setting and has a keen interest in the use of live music in his work. His most recent production, Electrolyte, won five awards at The Edinburgh Fringe in 2018 including the Mental Health Fringe Award and subsequently toured to 35 venues across the UK and Ireland. James has a particular interest in creating work that engage new audiences with thought-provoking theatre, TV & film and work that raises awareness around important social and political issues.
