How To – Write Adaptations for Stage & Radio

Join award-winning playwright and Mercury Associate, Nicola Werenowska as she shares practical tips and experiences on adaptation.
In this session, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to:
- Explore the genre and process of adaptation.
- Discuss novels they would like to adapt and why?
- Work through practical exercises looking at finding the heart of the story; writing a character monologue; putting your character in a different time/place.

Nicola Werenowska has recently worked on Radio 4 adaptation of Dickens’ Little Dorritt and she is currently developing a theatre version of DH Lawrence’s The Rainbow in association with the Mercury Theatre, Colchester Arts Centre and supported by Arts Council England.
