London Mozart Players
Presented by Mercury Theatre and Roman River Music
A Mercury and Roman River Music co-production
Orlando Jopling conducts the world-renowned London Mozart Players in their first visit to Colchester, in a popular orchestral programme of Mendelssohn, Mozart and Britten.
The concert will feature two stunning soloists – the celebrated tenor James Gilchrist, and sensational young horn player and BBC Young Musician of the year winner Ben Goldscheider. The orchestra will be led by eminent violinist Simon Blendis, and features among its ranks some of the most exciting musicians and rising stars in the music world.
Mendelssohn’s well-known music to Midsummer Night’s Dream starts the evening, followed by Britten’s hauntingly beautiful Serenade. Mozart’s most brilliant and enchanting final symphony – the Jupiter – closes the evening, and there may just be a little extra surprise…
