In this 90 minute session the Mercury’s Creative Director discusses the importance of collective creativity in conceiving the world of the play and explores the process of research and preparation, casting and rehearsal for a production.

The workshop is aimed at emerging directors keen to develop their approach to staging, but is open to anyone curious to find out more about how a script goes from page to stage in the hands of a director


This is a companion masterclass to the Mercury Monday Masterclass with Ellen Kane on A Choreographer’s Approach, which can be enjoyed as a double-bill or individually.

No experience needed.

Spaces are FREE but limited, so must be booked in advance.

There will be a signer for our D/deaf customers.
