Sat 8 December 2018
Price:
FREE

It’s access all areas as you join a friendly tour of the backstage areas of the Mercury Theatre.

The backstage tour allows you to step on the stage and get up close to the set of Jack and the Beanstalk, as our guide tells you about the history and operation of the theatre. You will hear about theatre superstitions, the design process, and you can ask any questions you like!

Tours take place at 10.30am and 11.30am and are free to National Lottery players* as part of their #ThanksToYou initiative. At 11.15am there will also be a short talk about our redevelopment project, Mercury Rising, from Executive Director Steve Mannix. Plus, at 12.30pm, we can offer visitors the opportunity to take a peek at the archaeological dig in progress. Places are free but must be booked.

Every tour covers:

  • The auditorium
  • Stage
  • Backstage area / prompt corner
  • Studio Theatre
  • Workshop, where our sets and props are made in house
  • Paint shop, where the magic happens and sets come to life!
  • Wardrobe, where costumes are created from scratch
  • Dressing Rooms

Please let us know if you have any access requirements, by emailing tickets@mercurytheatre.co.uk or calling 01206 573948.

*Simply present a National Lottery ticket upon arrival.
