Roman River Music – The Endellion Quartet
One of the world’s finest string quartets presents an engaging programme from classical giants with a trademark Roman River Music surprise woven in to launch their 2018 concert series at the Mercury.
The Endellion’s unique “uniformity of thought and instinct” (Gramophone, 2013) has earned them a well-deserved place in the history of the genre, their playing at times intensely intimate then suddenly transfixingly ebullient – an exclusive night in Colchester not to be missed.
Beethoven String Quartet No.2, Op.18 No.2
Webern Six Bagatelles for String Quartet, Op.9
Tchaikovsky String Quartet No.3 in E-flat minor, Op.30
