The Mercury is delighted to have hosted the recording for the virtual launch of the Essex County Council’s Arts and Cultural Fund.

Officially open for applications in January 2022, this new £1 million Arts and Cultural Fund will offer grants of between £2,500 to £30,000 to individual artists and creative organisations over five years. The fund aims to rejuvenate the Essex creative sector, as well as the county’s towns and city high streets. This virtual event features speakers from across Essex’s arts and culture sphere to tell you all about the grants, how you could be supported as an artist, charity, co-operative, business or organisation and how to apply.

Applications for 2022 are now open and must be made by Monday 28 February.

This virtual event will tell you all about how these new grants and how you could be supported, featuring speakers from across Essex’s arts and culture sphere.

Tickets are free, and a link to view the event will be sent out by email on the day.

The Arts and Cultural Fund is open to individual artists and co-operatives, as well as
community groups, charities and trusts, community interest companies, social enterprises and
private and public organisations.

Applications for those interested in applying to the Arts and Cultural Fund can be made from
Tuesday 4 January 2022 until the closing date of Monday 28 February 2022. Successful grant
submissions will be announced at the end of March 2022. Expressions of interest can be made
now.
