On May 17th 2017, more than 400 people gathered at the Mercury Theatre to quiz the candidates standing for MP in the 2017 general election.

Thanks to the 400+ people who attended our Ask The Candidates event last night – in 90 minutes the questions ranged from Brexit to disability benefits, the NHS, schools and more. The hustings was also covered on BBC Essex, BBC Look East, and we were joined by a team of University of Essex journalism students who recorded a feature on the hustings for Colne Radio.
A full list of candidates nominated can be found on the Colchester Council website, and polling day is June the 8th 2017. Polls open at 7am, and close at 10pm!
