It’s important that we have a presence and a space where our customers can visit and interact with us, especially while the theatre is closed, and we’re incredibly grateful to Whybrow for their support during this exciting time.”

Ewan Dodds, BSc FRICS, CEO of Whybrow as letting agent stated:as Corporate sponsors and long term supporters of the Theatre, an invaluable local and regional resource and much needed facility, we are especially thrilled to be supporting them in the temporary letting of this building while their exciting redevelopment progresses.”

Sam Good, Business Improvement District Manager, Our Colchester said: “Mercury Theatre is a key player in the success of Colchester town centre, with the refurbishment of their theatre now scheduled, it is fantastic news to see the temporary relocation of their ticket sales to the High Street. There is no doubt that the town centre will miss the theatres comradery over the next year however we are very excited with the plans for their re-opening in September 2020.”

Our exciting Mercury at Abbey Field venue will house an impressive season of shows from Sep 2019 to Jan 2020, including family friendly theatre, big name comedians and toe-tapping music.
