The Mercury’s main drama company you know and love has expanded to offer more opportunities to the amazing young people we welcome through our doors each week.
MYC Performers will receive weekly training from our Mercury teaching artists, which will develop:
• Voice
• Movement
• Text analysis
• Creating a character
• Scene work
• Improvisation skills
• Acting techniques
Mercury Young Company Performers will also have access to:
• The Mercury’s dedicated learning space
• Regular performance opportunities including an end of year performance
• Open rehearsals for Mercury Productions
• Free tickets for open dress rehearsals or preview performances for Mercury Productions
• Mercury Connects – the theatre’s social network, which provides opportunities in the arts, information about events, tickets and work in the East of England.
• Mentoring from theatre staff and exclusive backstage access
Weekly from Wed 12 Jan, sessions 7.30pm – 9.30pm
Term 1: Wed 12 Jan – Wed 30 Mar (Wed 16 Feb no session) 12 weeks
Term 2: Wed 20 Apr – Wed 20 Jul (Wed 1 Jun no session) 13 weeks
Term 3: Wed 7 Sep – Wed 14 Dec (Wed 26 Oct – no session) 15 weeks

Reserve a place for the year – You can now reserve a place on MYC for the whole year. To reserve a place for the whole year, contact our box office team at tickets@mercurytheatre.co.uk. Payment is due 2 weeks before the start of each term in April and September.
Accessibility
All of our activities are accessible and inclusive and you are able to inform us of any additional requirements you have when booking or by becoming a member of our Access for All scheme here. Through funding from Essex Short Breaks, we will also have youth assistants on hand to support our MYC groups up to 18 years, plus additional SEND-specific activities such as Move and Groove and Party Nights.
Covid-19 Guidelines
We are following the current Government roadmap for a safe re-opening and we will continue to take all measures to keep audiences and participants safe, in accordance with up-to-date Government guidelines.
