North Essex Heritage worked with partners, Signals to create an animation about the story of Britain’s largest Victorian water tower ‘Jumbo’
Animators worked with young people over a week to create this great little film and we worked with local actors to create voices.
This was part of the North Essex Heritage Jumbo Summer which was a series of events to raise awareness about Jumbo with the end goal of bringing it back into sustainable use. It was made possible with a grant from the lottery Fund.
The Revolution of the Capsules by Andrea Lavio
When an almighty Coffee Machine encounters a dysfunction, the capsules take the opportunity to rebel themselves against the dictatorial cups. Presented as a stop-motion animation.
Andrea Lavio is a Swiss Director and Actor. He trained as an actor at East 15 Acting School before studying traditional theatre forms in countries such as Indonesia, Japan, China and India. He has also been teaching Drama / facilitating Theatre Workshops in India, Kenya and South Africa.
He recently worked as a cameraman and editor at a television company in Switzerland before returning to East 15 to train as a Director.
The Exquisite Apple Adventures by Mia Juhl
Has your day ever unfolded into a surprising adventure?
Well, expect the unexpected when following an ordinary Apple out on an extraordinary adventure into a world of deceiving magic, plot twisting worm holes and evil toothbrushes. Using the exquisite corpse technique, this is a weird and exciting stop-motion experiment, which shows what happens, when you don’t know what film you are making before it’s finished. This is a collaboration of eight talented artists, who cross countries, postcodes and WiFi operators, has come together to stop, move and lead a little apple out on an adventure into the unknown.
This film is a collaboration between Alien Jefferson Theatre Company and 7 young artists.
