Arts Award – Silver
The aim is to have the portfolios completed by 19th September 2017, ready for assessment the week of the 25th September 2017. Moderation by Trinity College London will be on Tuesday 2nd October 2017.
The assessment is made based on evidence created by young people and collated in a portfolio. Assessment cannot be made on activity that has not been evidenced
The qualifications will be run and assessed by trained Arts Award Advisers Martin Russell, Head of Creative Learning and Talent, and Filiz Ozcan, Young People and Participation Director.
There is a maximum of 15 places per group, on a first come, first serve basis. Should activity prove to be popular we will look at delivering the award again in the near future.
There will be opportunity for 14-16 Youth Theatre members to progress onto the Gold Arts Award at a later moment.
The activity will be for the most part self-led, and young people will be expected to create the evidence themselves – the Mercury will support though taking photographs and providing time, space and resources/equipment to support with the creation of evidence.
The hour long sessions will be ran as a group tutorial, akin to Higher Education/University sessions; work will be shared and discussed with the advisors and young people supported. The Arts Award is young people led – that means if more sessions are needed it is determined by the young people. We are looking to support the development of mature, self-led, meta-cognitive creative individuals.
