Improv 101 – Term
This inspiring, fun-filled 2 hour class explores the principals of improvisation with a focus on truthful performance, active listening and moment-to-moment interaction.
You’ll learn to create dynamic characters and scenes and improve your focus in a supportive environment. Improv 101 is an essential weekly class for improving your acting, confidence and communication skills.
Our Improv 101 group will perform an improv night every term in our café bar as part of our Lates programme. You can still take part in the class if you prefer not to perform, but this is your chance to become part of a company with regular opportunities to flex your improv skills.
Term April – June – £80 for the term (£10 for a 2 hour session) – Intermediate Level
If you would like to join mid-way through this term, please call our Box Office.
The Summer Term of Improv 101 will be delivered by Joseph Rawlings. Joseph has been in love with Improvisation since he was a small child, TV and radio shows such as ‘Whose’s Line is it Anyway’ and ‘Just a Minute’ have played on repeat since. Joseph trained as an actor at East 15 Acting School, with a BA Hons in Theatre and Performance at Goldsmiths College, University London. Currently, alongside professional Acting work, Joseph works as Project Manager on the Mercury Creatives programme.
During this 10 week Improvisation programme, Joseph will lead a series of exercises, games and activities focused on supporting the group to develop their core improvisation skills. With ‘play’ at the forefront of every activity, Joseph promises: “We will laugh (a lot) and we may cry. But most importantly of all, we will all have a really good time.”
