Theatre Tours
Show Bio
The Mercury has seen many famous faces perform on its stages since the theatre opened in 1972. Let us take you behind the scenes to explore the backstage secrets of what makes a spectacular Mercury production.
Your guide will take you on a journey through our amazing spaces, including the rehearsal room, wardrobe and workshop. We aim for our tours to last one hour.
Why not upgrade your experience…
Make the most of your theatre tour by ending with a delicious afternoon tea or cream tea and bubbles in our café bar? Add these at the checkout. If you have any dietary requirements, please give our box office team a ring on 01206 573948 or email [email protected] so we can make sure we can arrange this for you, at least one week prior to your booking.
Give the gift of theatre with a voucher to take a Mercury Theatre tour.
Group and Private Tours
Bring your group to see behind the scenes at the Mercury!
Our tours are very popular and spaces fill up quickly, so why not arrange a private or group tour?
For a private group tour, we can offer a free place for the organiser and a special price if you add on a cream tea or an afternoon tea for after your tour, and we will try be as flexible as possible to fit with what works for any group.
We can have up to 20 on a tour, or do a double tour for 40 per tour. It is £10 per person for the tour only, £15.50 per person with a cream tea, or £27 per person with a full afternoon tea. We allow one free tour place on groups of up to 20, or two free tour places for an over 20-person tour. There is no minimum number we will offer a tour for, but a minimum spend of £100. We will ask you to choose your first and second preferred dates.
As the theatre changes all the time depending on our current shows, we often have people who come back and view the theatre through one of our tours again to see behind the scenes and learn more about different shows.
School groups can book tours as an Industry Day.
Book through our Groups and private tours booking form, or if you have a specific enquiry, please contact us.
