TEACHERS’ NETWORK EVENTS
The Mercury Theatre is offering free Continuing Professional Development opportunities for Secondary and FE teachers from across Essex. These sessions provide an opportunity to share best practice, gain new skills and develop existing ones. For more information visit our Teachers’ Network page.
Our tours take your group behind the scenes, to reveal how the Mercury Theatre creates its shows. You’ll find out more about different job roles and what it’s like to work in a professional theatre.
We have teamed up with Colchester Arts Centre to offer your group a tour of the Mercury Theatre followed by a tour of the Arts Centre. This will enable your pupils to see how two different creative venues operate side-by-side.
These 2hr workshops can be tailored to suit your class and key stage.
Sessions are delivered by Mercury Theatre drama practitioners and can focus on the following themes:
- Approaches to building a character
- Devising a piece of theatre
- Unlocking Shakespeare
- Physical theatre
Cost from £195 + VAT
Max. 30 participants
Workshops take place at your school or they can also be delivered at the Mercury Theatre to tie-in with a Backstage Tour or a visit to see a show.
