The pilot programme was delivered across 2020 –2022 and was funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with additional funding support from Arts Council England (ACE) and Colchester Borough Council.
True to the Mercury’s commitment to artists and freelancers, Mercury Creatives aimed to break down barriers to successful careers in the creative industries, offer skills and professional support whilst simultaneously building a local, resilient creative workforce.
Our Journey
The programme welcomed three cohorts across two years (extended due to the pandemic) with a total of 112 beneficiaries successfully completing the programme. Support included business support, professional development, strategic planning and funding application support from a designated mentor as well as upskilling and networking platforms to enhance growth and support survival during the ever-changing performing arts industry.
