It’s day one of peacetime, England is the same but different. In a house in Essex, Helen comes face to face with her best friend Cee for the first time in a decade. As the night unfolds and their husbands celebrate the hard won war, Helen and Cee wrestle with their part in it and what the future will look like.

Inspired by the ancient Greek story of Agamemnon this is a tale of anger, forgiveness and women who will not stay.

Ava Pickett is a writer for screen, stage and radio. Her first broadcast Roots featured Vicky McClure and was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and her first screenplay, the sitcom The Great Brittons is in full development with Channel 4. She currently has  has an original script commission with BBC One and Drama Republic.  She is also writing on Danny Brocklehursts Ten Pound Poms for Eleven and BBC One and two other projects for AMC and UKTV yet to be announced. She is writing the TV adaptation of the Robert Altman film Pret A Porter for Miramax and Paramount Plus and the book adaptation of the YA Novel S.T.A.G.S. for AnnaPurna and UrbanMyth. She is currently under commission for her second play and has original ideas in development with Calamity and Big Talk. She is represented by Amanda Davis at Curtis Brown.
