Colchester Christmas Evening Farmers Market

Building on the success of the monthly Farmers Market, Suffolk Market Events are delighted to announce a special Christmas Evening market on the gorgeous Piazza outside the Mercury Theatre on Saturday 16th December, 3-8pm. Expect stalls including food and drink and festive wonders!

There will be lots of amazing food including cakes, bakes and brownies as well as homemade pies, regional cheeses, plus local wine and craft gins and craft stalls such as jewellery, photography, textile and cushions as well as some delicious street food including sourdough toasties, chicken burgers and Indian samosa and apneers.

Everything that is sold at the market will be produced by the person who is selling and all have been produced locally.

There will also be special festive live entertainment! Line-up as follows:

4pm – Mercury Young Company Musical Theatre with festive song

4.30pm and 6.30pm – Mercury Adult Company with an interactive retelling of Dickens’ festive classic, A Christmas Carol, in three brief scenes around the market stalls.

5.30pm – Colchester Operatic Society with a festive ‘winter warmers’ Carol performance. Join Colchester Operatic Society spreading festive cheer! Sing along to your favourite carols with Colchester Operatic Society, a local charity who regularly perform at the Mercury Theatre and their next production, My Fair Lady, runs from Thu 25 Jan – Sun 4 Feb 2024.
