Mercurial Takeover: Ghost Therapy
Teenage screenwriter Jaz Skingle brings her smash hit debut play, Ghost Therapy, back to her hometown of Colchester this summer.
Following an eight-day run at the Edinburgh Fringe as a recommended sell-out show in 2022, Ghost Therapy comes to the Mercury Studio for one night only.
This hilarious and haunting comedy explores how ghosts have emotional needs too, through the insightful view of ghost therapist, Dr Soul. A magical mix of ghostly characters share their post-life issues in the hope of finding the illusive pathway to lasting peace.
What transpires is a razor-sharp piece of comic writing that is both great fun and a guaranteed feel-good play for all the family to enjoy.
Originally commissioned for the Colchester Fringe 2021, Ghost Therapy has enticed an incredible cast including Trenetta Jones as Dr Soul alongside Charlie Vaughan, Emma Pallet and Ewan Purser.
Jaz has always had a passion for entertaining audiences from a young age, acting in school plays and at the Stagecoach drama school, to now focusing on screenwriting and directing. Currently studying TV, Film and Theatre at King’s College London University, Jaz will continue her education at the University of California in Santa Barbara from September this year.
Creative, witty and elegantly written, Ghost Therapy is a truly outstanding debut play by a hugely talented young writer who is heading for a big future in the industry.
Prepare yourself to die with laughter.
