Shrek the Musical – Colchester Operatic Society

Fresh from their acclaimed production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Colchester Operatic Society brings Shrek the Musical to Mercury audiences for the first time.

Come and join short-tempered but good natured ogre, Shrek, on the adventure of a lifetime! With the help of a hilarious talking donkey, Shrek sets off to rescue Princess Fiona from a tower guarded by a fire-breathing dragon, so she can marry ruthless Lord Farquaad – but will it all go to plan?

Featuring the iconic I’m a Believer plus many more show-stopping songs, Shrek the Musical is sure to have your toes tapping and your heart soaring!

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe). All authorised performance materials are also supplied by MTI Europe.

Please Note: Shrek The Musical is recommended to audience members of all ages. As a useful guide to adults who intend to bring young people, the show is most enjoyed by ages 5 and over.

Shrek Meet & Greet

Grab your torch and pitchforks, and come and say hello to the world’s favourite green ogre, his four-legged sidekick and the lovely princess Fiona!

Come and join us for a fun afternoon, following our matinee performance of Shrek the Musical on Sun 29 Jan, 2pm in the Café Bar – where you’ll be able to have your photo taken with your favourite character and ask them questions about the show.
