Tom Walker (Good Luck, Studio), who is best known as the character Jonathan Pie, will return to the Mercury Theatre in Colchester with his new show Jonathan Pie & Friends which runs from 12th-14th December 2023.
Jonathan Pie is the frustrated news reporter, created by Tom Walker, who satirises the world of politics and the media. Known for venting his spleen in unguarded ‘off-camera’ rants, his online videos have been viewed by millions worldwide. His angry yet insightful diatribes have garnered him a massive online following which he is now hoping to convert into book sales.
Walker recently appeared at the Mercury in the theatre’s co-production with Mischief Theatre of the world premiere of Good Luck, Studio.
Join Jonathan Pie as he road tests brand new material for his forthcoming national tour. Pie will also be joined number of the countries best stand-up comics for a night of cutting satire and silliness.
Jonathan Pie: Hero or Villain? A question often asked and one that Pie hopes to answer in his brand-new live show. Join him as he celebrates the UK’s greatest heroes (Nurses / Gary Lineker / 24-hour off license proprietors) and takes a verbal blowtorch to its villains (Politicians / Cyclists).
The newly announced dates at the Mercury Theatre suitable for ages 16+ act as warm up gigs for the next Jonathan Pie UK tour.
Tom Walker said of today’s announcement, “I’m excited to return to the Mercury with my new show this December. The audiences in Colchester are an enthusiastic and supportive bunch, if they enjoyed the dark humour of Good Luck, Studio last year, then they won’t know what’s hit them when Jonathan Pie takes to the stage.”
Tickets go on priority sale to members on Tue 10 Oct at 10am and on general sale on Fri 13 Oct at 10am at www.mercurytheatre.co.uk.
