You can book tickets by calling our Ticket Sales team on 01206 573948.
Opening hours are Mon – Sat 10.30am – 5.30pm.
Our theatre is currently closed while we undergo redevelopment work, but you can still book in person at our new temporary ticket sales location at number 18 Red Lion Yard, Colchester, CO1 1DX.

PRINT @ HOME
Our new Print @ Home ticket option is available for all Mercury Theatre shows. Save money and time by printing your tickets out at home before the show.
Tickets can be reserved without payment for five working days.
GIFT VOUCHERS AND THEATRE TOKENS
We sell Mercury Theatre Gift Vouchers and National Theatre Tokens. Please note that National Theatre Tokens can only be purchased and redeemed in person or over the phone. Mercury Theatre Gift Vouchers, however, can be purchased and used online as well as in person and over the phone. Visit the Mercury Theatre Gift Voucher page for more information.
We offer concessions for all MIC shows and as many visiting shows as we can. These concessions include:
- Over 60s
- Under 26’s
- School Groups
- Groups Discounts
We also offer concessions for most shows for customers with disabilities or impairments. For information regarding our Access shows and provisions, please see below:
BABE IN ARMS
We offer a “Babe in Arms” ticket for any child 2 years and under who will be sitting on a lap and not on a seat. Tickets are £2.50 and must be bought over the phone or in person with the Customer Experience Team.
Please note the seating plan varies. Ticket prices, particularly for preview performances, may change without notice.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can’t make a performance?
We can exchange your tickets up to five days prior to the date on your ticket, or alternatively give you credit to use on another show of your choosing. Unfortunately, we cannot give refunds. Ticket exchanges incur a standard £1 fee.
Lost your ticket?
Speak to a member of our Customer Experience team, who will be more than happy to help. Proof of identity may be required. If this is the case, please allow plenty of time before the start of the performance so we can re-print your tickets.
Late to a show?
We will try our best to seat you at the earliest available point in the performance. We also have a monitor in the bar to watch while you wait, so you don’t miss out on too much of the show!
Can tickets be posted out?
We are able to post your tickets out to you for a standard £1 postage fee. If you’re booking last minute, we recommend that you choose our Print @ Home ticket option which will email your tickets out to straight away.
Do young children, toddlers and babies need a ticket?
Yes, due to the theatre licensing regulations everyone must be issued with a ticket, regardless of age. Please see BABE IN ARMS above for more details.
