Our temporary High Street box office location, Mercury Tickets, will relocate to Red Lion Yard on week commencing Monday 11 November.

Mercury Tickets has been located on Colchester High Street since May 2019 following the closure of the theatre while our Mercury Rising redevelopment project takes place, and will next week move to a new shop located at number 18 Red Lion Yard.

The new Mercury Tickets venue will open to public on Monday 18 November, and will operate under the opening hours of 10:30am to 5:30pm, Mondays to Saturdays. Members of the public can drop by to speak with a member of the Customer Experience team in person, or call 01206 573948 to book tickets over the phone.

We are grateful to both our new landlords at Lion Walk and our outgoing landlords at Whybrow, both of whom have been able to offer the us their spaces on a temporary basis while our theatre building undergoes redevelopment as part of our Mercury Rising capital project.

Martin Leatherdale, Centre Manager at Lion Walk Shopping Centre said: “I am delighted to welcome the Mercury Theatre to Red Lion Yard. It’s humbling to support the fantastic institutions in our town, and this move represents everything we are about. I wish every success with this fantastic move, to compliment the market and our independents, just in time for Christmas!”

Steve Mannix, Executive Director at Mercury Theatre said: “We’re thrilled to have been offered a Box Office space in the charming Red Lion Yard. It’s important that we have a town centre presence and a space where our customers can visit and interact with us while the theatre is closed, especially over pantomime season, and we’re incredibly grateful to Lion Walk Shopping Centre for their support during this exciting time.”

Our Customer Experience team will continue to sell tickets for our upcoming pantomime, Cinderella, from our new town centre location, having successfully run our box office for our 2019 off-site season from the High Street. The Mercury also act as ticket agents for other local venues and events, and look forward to continuing to serve customers over the festive period and into 2020, before we move back into our newly redeveloped theatre building in September next year.

Cinderella will take place at our off-site theatre tent, Mercury at Abbey Field from Sat 30 Nov – Sun 5 Jan. For more information or to book your tickets, pick up a brochure from the new Mercury Tickets, call 01206 573948 or click here
